Keyword Tracking
The Target keywords module lets you monitor the specific keywords that matter most for each client. Unlike the GSC queries view (which shows everything Google reports), target keyword tracking is a curated list of priority terms with daily position monitoring, per-keyword action plans, and AI analysis.

Adding target keywords
- In the client sidebar, go to Keywords → Target keywords.
- Click Add keywords.
- Enter keywords one per line, or paste a bulk list.
- Click Add keywords.
Keywords are added to the tracking queue. Position data appears within 24 hours.
:::tip Bulk paste Paste a comma-separated or line-separated list to add dozens of keywords at once. You can also import directly from your Search Console data by filtering for keywords in positions 11–20 (quick wins) or with high impressions and low CTR. :::
Status overview
The status overview cards at the top of the page show how your tracked keywords are distributed across position groups:
| Status | Position range |
|---|---|
| Top 3 | Positions 1–3 |
| Page 1 | Positions 4–10 |
| Page 2 | Positions 11–20 |
| Low | Positions 21–100 |
| Not Ranking | Not found in top 100 |
These give you an at-a-glance health check of the keyword portfolio.
Per-keyword analysis
Click any keyword to open its full analysis view. For each keyword, Minorank shows:
- Current position vs competitors' positions for the same keyword
- Position history chart (daily positions over time)
- Status assessment — where the keyword stands relative to the goal
- Difficulty and timeline — estimated effort and time to reach target position
- Action type — whether this is a content creation, optimisation, or technical fix opportunity
AI action plan
Each keyword comes with an AI-generated 9-step action plan covering:
- Content review and optimisation priorities
- Title tag and meta description improvements
- Internal linking opportunities
- Keyword placement within the content
- Competing pages to consolidate or differentiate
- Schema markup to add
- Page speed improvements for the specific URL
- Link building priorities for this page
- Monitoring milestones and expected timeline
Each step has a Task button (creates a task in your Minorank task list) and an Asana button (pushes the task directly to your connected Asana project).
Keyword gap analysis

The Keyword gap tab finds keywords your competitors rank for that the client doesn't — or ranks much lower for. These represent direct content and optimisation opportunities.
See the Competitor Analysis page for full documentation on reading keyword gap results.
Keyword groups
Organise tracked keywords into groups for cleaner reporting and filtering:
- Go to Keywords → Groups → Create group.
- Name the group (e.g. "Services", "Blog", "Brand", "Local").
- Assign keywords from the main Keywords table.
Groups appear as filter tabs and can be used to segment AI report generation — e.g. generate a report focused only on the "Local" keyword group.
