Internal Links

The Internal Links report finds orphan content, published pages and posts that no other page on your site links to. Orphan content is harder for search engines (and visitors) to discover, and it typically ranks worse as a result.

How it works

Minorank SEO maintains a link graph, a database table that records which posts link to which other posts. The graph is built from post content, custom fields, and WooCommerce product variations.

  • The graph is updated automatically on every save, you only need to rebuild it manually if you want to re-scan content that was already published before the plugin was installed.
  • The orphan report queries the graph to find posts with an inbound-link count of zero.

Using the report

Go to Minorank SEO → Internal Links in the WordPress admin.

Orphan pages tab

Shows all published posts, pages, products, and custom post types that have no internal links pointing to them.

ColumnDescription
TitleThe post title, linking to the edit screen
TypePost type (post, page, product, etc.)
DatePublish date
ViewOpens the live URL in a new tab
IgnoreRemoves the item from the orphan list

Ignored pages tab

Shows items you have previously ignored. Click Un-ignore to move them back to the main list.

Bulk ignore

Select multiple rows using the checkboxes on the left, then use the bulk action dropdown to ignore (or un-ignore) them all at once.

Click Rebuild link graph at the top of the page to re-scan all published content from scratch. The button also shows the number of posts the current graph was built from.

Use this when:

  • You have imported a large batch of posts
  • You have switched themes or page builders that may store content differently
  • You have run a database migration

In the Gutenberg editor, Minorank SEO suggests relevant internal links as you write. When you select text and open the link tool, the plugin queries the link graph and surfaces pages that haven't already been linked from the current post.
