Role Manager
The Role Manager lets site owners and administrators grant individual WordPress roles access to specific Minorank SEO tools. Instead of an all-or-nothing admin-only setup, you can give Editors access to the Bulk Editor, Authors access to on-page SEO editing, or a custom client role access to view reports, without opening up the full plugin.
Administrators always retain full access regardless of role settings.
Who this is for
- Agencies managing WordPress sites for clients, where client staff should edit SEO fields but not touch redirects or schema.
- Teams with a content writer who needs on-page SEO access but should not manage sitemaps or plugin settings.
- Developers who want to restrict plugin areas during a content migration or handover.
Tool-level access
Access can be granted per tool. The available tools are:

On-page editing permissions
For the SEO meta box that appears inside the post editor (Gutenberg and classic), access is split into four granular permissions that match the meta box tabs:

This means you can give an Author the ability to set titles and descriptions (General) without letting them change the canonical URL or schema type.
Setting up role access
- Go to Minorank SEO → Settings → Role Manager.
- Select a WordPress role from the list (Editor, Author, Contributor, or any custom role).
- Toggle on the tools and post-editor tabs this role should have access to.
- Click Save.
Changes take effect immediately. Users with that role will see only the tools and tabs you enabled on their next page load.
:::note Administrators are always unrestricted Role Manager settings do not apply to users with the Administrator role. Administrators always see and can access all Minorank tools regardless of what Role Manager is configured to. :::
How it interacts with Elementor
Role Manager permissions apply to the Minorank SEO panel inside the Elementor editor as well. If a user's role does not have access to the Advanced tab, the Advanced section will not appear in their Elementor SEO panel either.
Common setups
Content team that only edits titles and descriptions Grant the Editor role: General (on-page), Bulk Editor.
Client with read-only SEO visibility Grant a custom "Client" role: SEO Analyzer, 404 Monitor (view only).
SEO specialist without settings access Grant a custom role: all on-page tabs, Redirections, 404 Monitor, Bulk Editor, Internal Links, Broken Links, Keyword Conflicts. Leave SEO Settings, Schema Markup, and Addons off.
