Term & Taxonomy SEO
Minorank SEO adds a full SEO meta box to the edit screen of every taxonomy you enable, categories, tags, WooCommerce product categories, and any custom taxonomy including ones created by CPT builders like JetEngine or Pods.
What you can set per term
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| SEO Title | Custom <title> tag for the term archive page |
| Meta Description | Custom meta description for the term archive |
| Focus Keyword | Scored against the term's description field |
| Social Share Image | OG image override for sharing the term archive on social media |
| Noindex | Prevents the term archive from being indexed by search engines |
If a field is left empty, the plugin falls back to its global template (e.g. %term_name% – %site_name%).
Enabling taxonomies
Go to Minorank SEO → Settings and scroll to the Term & Taxonomy SEO section. Toggle on each taxonomy you want to support. The section only lists taxonomies that are currently registered and public.
WooCommerce taxonomies (product categories, product tags, etc.) appear automatically when WooCommerce is active.
SEO Score for terms
The SEO Score for a term is computed the same way as for posts, but against the term's description field instead of post content. Add a meaningful description to your categories and tags to get a useful score.
Editing term SEO
- Go to Posts → Categories (or any other taxonomy list).
- Click Edit on a term.
- Scroll down, the Minorank SEO box appears below the term fields.
- Fill in the fields and click Update.
Bulk editing
Terms are included in the Bulk SEO Editor (Minorank SEO → Bulk Editor). Filter by taxonomy type to edit many terms at once without opening each one individually.
